Essay-Writing Competition

Please donate to fund essay-writing competitions by the Anointed Girl’s Project (A.G. Project) in Nigeria. A.G Project has launched the first initiative by hosting a competition on February 23, 2019 in Lagos, Nigeria. A.G. Project hopes to expand the next competition to multiple locations in Nigeria and donate as much money as possible. Participants, donors, and the public will be able to directly see the girls to which the money is donated, as well as read their essays and hear their stories on our website and our social media platforms–including Facebook and Instagram.

AG Project is a campaign that was founded in order to provide an opportunity for girls, primarily those who are underprivileged, to demonstrate their talents and be awarded tuition scholarships. The primary initiative is to provide at least 100 girls tuition money by the end of the year. The focus is on young Nigerian girls because in a patriarchal society such as Nigeria, they are not given the same opportunities as their fellow male counterparts.  The A.G. Project strives to promote health and wellness in young Nigerian girls. Our motto is “Encouraging Every Girl to Learn Her Power.”

Educational funding is critical because it provides the necessary tools for women to empower themselves. Despite Nigeria’s abundant resources and tremendous standing as a stronghold in West Africa, 86.9 million people–nearly 50% of the estimated 180 million population–are living in extreme poverty (The World Poverty Clock, 2018). The A.G. Project is dedicated contribute in helping those in need, with the mission to aid in the efforts towards hindering extreme poverty in future generations of Nigerians.
